An Unprecedented Year

The fires were ‘unprecedented’ (the word for 2020!) and as soon as the smoke cleared, Coronavirus got us - and it seems we’re not in the clear yet. 2020 let the whole world see what Christians have always known - creation labours under a curse! Much of our world struggles with this on a daily basis - but this year, it felt like no-one was exempt. I don't think I’ve ever found it easier to start a conversation about hope in Jesus. Everyone feels the world is broken - even if they’re yet to realise, they’re broken too. Friends and neighbours want to talk about what is happening in the world. For me, 2020 was the year to take a deep breath, start a gospel conversation and give people a chance to respond to the hope they crave. And it’s what I’ve been trying to encourage others to do too. Imagine if we all sought to turn our conversations to Jesus more often? Especially now, when the bite of a global crisis opens an ‘unprecedented’ door.
